igh Horses' volunteers have a significant and immediate impact on
the quality of the service that we provide for our clients.
Volunteers groom and tack up horses, lead them during lessons,
or walk alongside them in the ring and out on the trails. They interact
with our riders either in casual conversation or to assist them
with specific instructions from our instructors.
Working in the ring with constant
hands-on contact with our horses and their special-needs riders
requires specific skills. Volunteers in the ring
must be at least 14 years old and are screened and trained under
the guidelines of the North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association. We sponsor several volunteer training sessions each
year.
We
have opportunities to help even if you prefer not to work in the
ring or around our horses. Please contact us to learn about other
ways you can help us. Volunteer

Our goal is to enrich the lives of our volunteers and add to the
quality of the service we provide. In the words of one of our volunteers,
"It is one endeavor where you know you are making a difference;
yet it is not clear whose life is more positively impacted, the
rider's or my own."
Please go to the Contact Us section for information about how to
become a volunteer.
