Sadie is a 22-year-old Belgian draft horse mare who joined High Horses in 2024. She is very gentle despite her imposing size, (16.2 hands!) and has classic Belgian horse looks with a chestnut coat and a big white blaze on her face.

Previously, Sadie was a work horse on an Amish farm. Although she has transitioned well to therapy work, she can be shy and still has some scarring on her nose and chest from ill fitting equipment used during her farm days. At High Horses, Sadie has become an important part of our EAS programs, gently working with mounted clients in our adaptive riding and horsemanship programming.

Sadie’s personality traits are: hardworking, gentle giant, kind.
